The new Slash sports a frame with a completely new design that recalls that of the robust Session model, but with a configuration more suitable for pedaling, designed to overcome obstacles on descents and easily climb up paths.

Compared to the previous version, both front and rear travel has been increased to 170mm. Ready to speed with mullet wheels (29˝ front/27.5˝ rear), it can be used like a real 29er by those who prefer unbridled speed and maximum agility on the slopes.

The big news on the Slash is the high-pivot suspension (high fulcrum) which allows the rear axle to move back while the suspension compresses. This means that the rear wheel moves with the force of impacts, rather than against it, allowing you to speed over rougher terrain with even greater speed.

High-pivot suspension is nothing new to trail riding, however the secret behind the versatility of the Slash's setup is its anti-squat curve, designed to increase climbing efficiency. The anti-squat effect is influenced by a few variables, one of which, probably the most important, is the position of the main fulcrum. The size and placement of the Slash's top pulley provides an additional opportunity to adjust the anti-squat curve. Thanks to the layout and size of the upper and lower pulleys, Slash offers a super efficient and super smooth anti-squat curve that allows you to pedal on technical and bumpy climbs very similar to that of short travel bikes.

The new Slash also offers a more relaxed enduro setup, with a 63,5° head tube angle that increases downhill stability. The head tube setup is paired with a more vertical seat tube angle (77°) which helps riders put more power through the pedals when making their way back to the top. The long reach offers plenty of room for maneuvering. As for the rear, size-specific chainstays give riders balanced handling regardless of height or frame size.
For those who prefer to customize their bike, Slash offers a vast spectrum of adjustment functions regarding, for example, the angle of the headset cups (optional, sold separately) and the wheel configuration (Mullet or 29er). Slash also offers all the space needed to accommodate extra-long dropper posts, giving riders the ability to have more ease to move on the steepest and most uneven terrain.

Being designed to tackle the roughest trails, the new Slash has been updated with protections for shuttle transport which also allow the impact of debris to be deflected onto the frame. Furthermore, the carefully designed chainstay cover not only offers effective defense but also makes pedaling quieter. In addition to this, the carbon models come with integrated Carbon Armor protection which provides an additional level of protection for the downtube. As with previous versions, all new Slash models feature a storage compartment integrated into the frame to transport essential items during the activity.
The new Slash, now available in both carbon and aluminium, is aimed equally at bike park lovers, extreme mountain bikers and enduro riders. The new model can be purchased through Trek's national dealer network.
