GoPro, Inc. today announced the new HERO9 Black camera, “best all around”. Thanks to a new sensor, the camera offers 5K video, 20 megapixel photos, next-generation HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilization with horizon alignment built into the camera, a new front display, a larger rear display and 30% more of battery life. The Mod accessory for Max lens is also coming, with HyperSmooth Max video stabilization and ultra-wide-angle photos and videos thanks to SuperView Max.
HERO9 Black is available globally for a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $ 479,99 or $ 379,98 with a one-year GoPro subscription. Current GoPro subscribers will be eligible to purchase the device for € 379,98 at GoPro.com.
GoPro also announced that the GoPro PLUS subscription service has been rebranded as GoPro, a simpler choice that reflects the tremendous importance that service has for users of the brand.
“HERO9 Black reflects our commitment to meeting customer needs and demands, including value for money,” said Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. “HERO9 Black is an incredible product. GoPro subscribers can purchase it on GoPro.com for $ 100 off and enjoy unlimited cloud storage for their GoPro footage. They will also be entitled to up to 50% discount on all items sold on GoPro.com and a camera replacement without any questions. And it doesn't stop there: new benefits for GoPro subscribers will come later in the year. "

Additionally, GoPro has eliminated plastic from the HERO9 Black's packaging, choosing instead to pack the camera in a high-quality travel case that accommodates additional mounts and accessories, as well as adding further value to the product.
“Minimizing the plastics our business produces is a top priority,” Woodman said. "We are thrilled to launch a device protected by a high-value travel case instead of the traditional, hard-to-dispose of packaging, and we want to take the same approach for all other cameras by the end of 2021."
