A fantastic all-Italian podium with the MMT Factory Racing biker preceding a newfound Bertolini and the young Avondetto, who this year will compete in the world cup with the Elite, thanks to a UCI exemption, despite the fact that he would still have the age to compete between the U23.

One of the best performances of Nadir Colledani (MMR Racing Team) at the Internazionali d'Italia Series dates back to San Marino 2019: a second place to remember under the flood, struggling with opponents like Lars Forster and Nino Schurter.
At Nalles 2022, the Italian champion managed to do even better, winning his first career HC race. The constant? The rain, which in the afternoon of the Marlene Südtirol Sunshine Race returned to hit the athletes engaged in the Men's Open test, coupled with temperatures just a little bit spring.
The favorite on the eve was the South African Alan Hatherly (Cannondale Factory Racing), and up to four of the six laps scheduled the Nalles test had proposed a duel in the lead between him and the Italian champion, on increasingly heavy terrain and insidious.
It was precisely the cold that decided the outcome of the duel: in the fifth round Hatherly's action began to lose its effectiveness, with the South African clearly suffering. Colledani, on the other hand, insisted alone until the finish line, fully enjoying his first HC success.
Behind him, with Hatherly slipping back, were two other Italians to play for the squares of honor. Second place went to Gioele Bertolini (Trinx Factory Racing, +1.31) author of a brilliant race that brought him back after a few seasons on the podium of a circuit race, and also to wear the blue jersey for the category leader.
Third place for Simone Avondetto (Wilier-Pirelli, +1.37), ahead of Gregor Raggl (Brunex Superior Racing) and Filippo Fontana (Carabinieri-Olimpia), new leader of the Internazionali d'Italia Series in the Under 23 category. Only sixth was the South African Hatherly .
"Winning an HC race for the first time here in Nalles is a great satisfaction for me. For some reason, when it rains I manage to perform as best I can, today I think I have also made the right choice of tires. It is certainly also a matter of mentality, an aspect in which I grew up and am working hard. Now I'm leaving for Brazil with high morale, ”Commented Colledani at the end of the race.
