From 2nd to 4th September the World Cup arrives in Val di Sole! The Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2022 season stopped in the American continent last week (Snowshoe and Mont Sainte Anne) and now it arrives in Italy with the grand finale and many top Italian athletes!

After i Les Gets World Championships, many athletes may feel fulfilled while others are looking for redemption. The positive factor is that the overall results of the Cup are open to many categories and this will increase the spectacularity.
DOWNHILL

In downhill we find a ruler this year: it is about Amaury Pierron (Commencal Muc-Off) but Loic Bruni has shown that when it comes to the rainbow jersey becomes a lion. Pay attention as always to Finn Iles, but we still don't know his conditions after the crash in the Les Gets qualifying that made him miss the final. Let's not forget Loris Vergies (Trek), winner in Andorra, but there are still many names that could make the perfect run. Outsiders could be the Americans of Intense Aaron Gwin and Dakotah Norton. For the Italian colours, I'm rooting for Loris Revelli (Canyon Pirelli) and Davide Palazzari (Rogue Racing Team), with the new Italian champion Davide Cappello engaged in the Juniores.
Among women we don't have a real favorite, but the possible names are: Camille Blanche (Dorval Commencal) who proved to be the most solid in 2022, even if she is now back from an injury, Valentina Holl (Rockshox Trek, winner of the world title last Sunday) to Myriam Nicole (Commencal Muc-Off). Lots of hope for Eleonora Farina: she rides gasa, she's fit and knows the route very well. The perfect run may not be utopia. The Italian champion Veronica Widmann is also waiting for a good test.
CROSS COUNTRY

Nino Schurter he will be very fierce after that world victory and is looking for cup winning record. Outsiders, so to speak, could be Vlad Dascalu (Trek Factory, he deserves a victory) and Christopher Blevins (Specialized), the latter reborn on the American continent. David Valero (BH) was very perky during the world race and Snowshoe managed to give the winning push. Great expectations for Luca Braidot who runs at home and is in great shape, as in all of this 2022.
In the women's field the races are always very open even if Pauline Ferrand Prevot he demolished the competition at the World Cup, including Jolanda Neff and Loana Lecomte. Swedish Jenny Rissveds (Team 31 Ibis) has shown that she is always ready for battle but probably she won't be at the start due to an influence she has on him also blew up the world championship review. There are many opponents, starting with Anne Terpstra (Ghost Factory) and Alessandra Keller (Thomus Maxon). Beware of the American Blunk, Batten, Gibson and Courtney. Positive signals from Martina Berta, also considering the home match.
