Maxiavalanche Cervinia: Matteo Raimondi touches the victory

The bad snow conditions made the traditional start of the first round of Sunday's race impossible from the summit of Plateau Rosa, but the incredible routes prepared by the Bike Park of Cervinia amply satisfied the 300 international participants registered for this stage.

Maxivalanche Cervinia

It was Lucas Frigout, Matteo Raimondi (best time in 12mn59sc), Olivier Bruwiere and Torben Drach who won in their respective qualifying rounds. Andy Fageol wins in the e-Maxi by Loisibike category in e-bike.

HAPPY 1

The German Torben Drach (Raww // Levelnine GR) won the first round in 15'29 "ahead of the Italian Matteo Raimondi (Team Locca Specialized) (15'37"), and the battle was repeated in the afternoon but with only a second gap between the two leading men (14mn30 and 14mn31)! Axel Vernhet (France, CSO Millau), Olivier Bruwiere (Belgium, Enduro Fabriek) and Davide Sottocornola (Italy, CicoBikes DSB Bikemo) complete the podium!

Among the girls, it was Laura Simonin (Annecy CC) who won hands down, also conquering the third place scratch Challengers, despite having started in the last row (she had not been able to take part in the placing heats the day before). Emilie Serre, Maelle Escudero (Evenprod), Vera Ramon (Racingteam Riversosse) and Stéphanye Ethoin (BMX Sucy en Bire 94) complete the women's podium.

In the EBIKE category for the e-Maxiavalanche by Loisibike it was Giorgio Righi (Bad School Team) who won ahead of Thomas Faivre (Lapierre Switzerland) and Maxime Danda (Lapierre) who won the prize for the best start with a relaunch with both arms in the hole, for the beauty of the show!

Maurizio Bisterzo, Andrea Orsi, Laura Simonin, Erich Constantino and Jean Christophe Klinger make up the podium of the Maxiavalanche Challengers!

Commencal MEGA KID: Next Generation Guaranteed!

More than 40 young champions aged 7 to 14 came to compete on the trails of Cervinia, some of whom experienced the Mass-Start mountain bike race for the first time (by age group), with two race round on Sunday!
The older children (Minimes and Benjamins, aged 11 to 14) set off with pleasure but not without apprehension over 2800m on the same route as the second Maxiavalanche “Adult”. Matteo Wijckmans (AMSL Fréjus VTT), regular of the Mega Kid circuit, won the Minimes, ahead of the Italian Gabriele Gattino (GranBike Velo Club ASD) and the French Lilian Giordanengo (Collerirder CSPMVTT). Maya Boudail (AMSLF) wins in Minime Girl, Alicia Picard in Benjamines. Gabriele Tubaldo (Mad Wheels) in first place in Benjamins ahead of Giovanni Carassale (Rad! MTB School) and Milo Pribise!

The little ones (Poussins and Pupilles) started off in the middle of a path that is still very demanding for these little runners, but they all reached the finish line with courage and determination, the little ones encouraged and supported by their parents behind the wire! It is the Italian Noah Hrustonavic (Cui Che Gnanca Bun) to win in Pulcini and Tylan Dieu (BMX Cavaillon) in Pupils. Lilas Wijckmans (AMSL Fréjus VTT) wins among the chicks, in front of several boys and Norma Rocca (Rad School MTB) among the girls!
Congratulations to all these young cyclists representing the best of mountain biking to come!
