According to the Swiss portal Sport.ch, it seems that the positivity of Mathias Fluckiger with Zeranolo was found in a minimal amount that would not have been detectable by the vast majority of laboratories and that this amount cannot therefore constitute a positive result. That amount could simply come from food poisoning.

The limit for Zeranol to determine a positivity is 5 ng / mL and only 0,3 ng / mL was found. Such a small amount could only be detected thanks to the high-precision instruments of the laboratory where the sample was analyzed and which the vast majority of laboratories on the planet do not have. In other words, in other laboratories this amount would not even have been recognized. If so, Fluckiger would have all it takes to win the case. But the question arises: if this were really so, how is such a situation possible? Who is the body that protects professional biker athletes?
Swiss Sport Integrity, the Swiss anti-doping agency, sanctioned Mathias Fluckiger on August 18 based on a positive urine sample taken on June 5 at the Swiss XCO Championships. On 7 September, Mathias Fluckiger posted a statement announcing his innocence and giving his version of the facts.
The possible claim for damages could reach up to 1 million Swiss francs.
