The first e-bike tour of Bike Garage & More to discover the Tuscan Maremma starts today 21 April from Massa Marittima.
A path of 578 km made of paths through woods, dirt roads and only 20% of asphalted roads that winds through enchanting medieval villages, crossing the Parco delle Colline Metallifere with a lunar landscape, the suggestive beech forest of Monte Amiata, the extraordinary City of Tufo, and offers glimpses from the Argentario promontory and other incredible locations that will leave you breathless.
12 stages da 50 km allow enthusiasts not only to enjoy the cycling experience but also to discover the natural, cultural, culinary and agricultural excellences of the area.
The planned route, with various stages of battery change and refreshments, crosses the municipalities of Massa Marittima, Roccastrada, Arcidosso, Roccalbegna, Sorano, Pitigliano, Manciano, Orbetello, Argentario, Grosseto, Castiglione della Pescaia, Scarlino and Follonica. Two world-renowned professionals, Martino Fruet and Marco Aurelio Fontana, and other local and international athletes participate in this first edition. There are also two well-known cyclists and bloggers from the Ride Like a Girl project, a women's amateur sports association (ASD) that promotes the culture of cycling.
The exciting challenge was conceived by Giovanni Pettinari, a great connoisseur of the territory and for years engaged in the Maremma circuit, and came to life thanks to the commitment of Ernest Hutmacher and his team Bike Garage & More (BGM). The keywords of the project are emotion, fun and safety: all participants are equipped with a live-tracking device (ProteGear e LifePass) and monitored in real time. It is possible to follow every movement of the athletes live on the BGM Facebook page.
Il UISP patent it is used to certify the passage of riders in each stage of the Maremma Challenge in the Road Book. The first 100 cyclists who finish the Grand Tour, within 12 months of departure, will receive a free local product and a prize sponsored by the industry leader, SCOTT
Il Maremma Challenge is a destination promotion project that will allow Maremma to become an international destination for sports tourism slow and sustainable. The circular route of 578 km it can be enjoyed by cyclists according to their preferences and abilities in total autonomy to discover and enjoy the beauties of the territory, the quality of the food and wine products and crafts of small towns, natural reserves, archaeological areas between land and sea at any time of the year.

During the inauguration the 3M circuit (Union of Municipalities Montana Colline Metallifere), a ring of about 65 km that connects the municipalities of Massa Marittima, Monte Rotondo, Montieri and possibly Roccastrada. This is the first ring of trails at the provincial level, one best practice of the sector and a stimulus for the creation of other networks throughout the territory.
