The last appointment with the 2015 Lombardy Enduro Cup, a 2-day event in Livigno, sees Marco Milivinti (GB RIFAR RACING TEAM ASD) as the absolute protagonist, who returns after 5 months due to a double scaphoid injury.
Among the over 120 starters, several well-known names on the Italian scene: the brothers Alex (FRM FACTORY RACING TEAM) and Denny (TRIBE TEAM) Lupato, Gionata Livorti and Bruno Zanchi of the Airoh-Axo-Santa Cruz team, the young promising Simone Invernizzi (ULTRAIL .CH) (back from 2 second places in the category at the European Enduro Series) and circuit leader Marcello Pesenti (TEAM AIROH-AXO-SANTACRUZ). In addition to these, which already guaranteed a hard-fought race, a group of South Tyrolean and German riders who gave our compatriots a hard time.
Despite the fierce competition, Milivinti proved to be in great shape and set the best time in all 4 special stages.
In PS1, which took place on Saturday afternoon and starting in reverse order, several athletes alternated in first position until it was the turn of Tobi Muller, Canyon Enduro Riders team, who set the time of 6'08 " , leading the second by almost 20 ″. The German rider maintained the first position until the descent of Marco Milivinti, the only one to go under the 6-minute wall with 5'55 ”.
After a sunny Saturday afternoon, dark clouds awaited the athletes at the start on Sunday morning. The sky was threatening rain, but fortunately the only "wet" special stage was the last.
With the first position always occupied by Marco Milivinti, the second and third step of the podium were played by Tobi Muller, Gionata Livorti and Philip Walder (BIKEPOOL.IT). In the end, after a close battle between the 3, the young Muller comes out right in front of Livorti.
Unfortunately Alex Lupato had to leave the race early, following a break during PS3.
Among the women triumphs the hostess, Jessica Bormolini, ahead of Tiziana Ornaghi (TEAM ALBA OROBIA BIKE ASD) and Bruna Benedusi (TEAM ALBA OROBIA BIKE ASD), who came second and third respectively.
