The Lux Trail is a completely new, entirely redesigned bicycle. It shares DNA with the tried and tested Lux World Cup, but while the latter is all about racing, the Lux Trail was created to go beyond competition.

On paper, the Lux Trail is a 29mm 120er with 115mm of rear suspension, but when you get in the saddle, those numbers look completely different. By combining these features with the bike's new kinematics and rear suspension design, you get immediate responsiveness on climbs and incredible control on descents.
Geometries for long pedaling
The geometry of the Lux Trail is fundamental to the efficiency and capabilities of the bicycle, as it is able to guarantee the most comfortable and least tiring ride possible. The sloping seat tube keeps the rider in an ideal position for attacking climbs, while the narrow head angle allows him to have full control to tackle technical descents.

The increase in seat tube angle by 1,5° (76°) allows the rider to assume a more upright position which helps make long rides more comfortable. The steep seat tube also places the rider in a more efficient position above the bottom bracket, helping to improve power transfer from the pedals to the trail. The rider's weight in the right position keeps the front wheel planted on climbs. Decreasing the steering angle by 0,5° (67°) provides greater control at high speeds and on steep descents.
Carbon frames only
The strong points of the new Lux Trail are many, but the new frame is certainly one of the best. The Lux Trail is an ultra-light XC bike, with a size M CFR frame weighing 1.996 g and a CF frame weighing 2.164 g.
The details make the difference
The further you ride the race course, the more you rely on the bike. Mechanisms and punctures can ruin months of training in just a few seconds. The Lux Trail comes with an integrated repair kit to get runners going again. For quick repairs and fixing punctures, there's a mini-tool stored at the bottom of the top tube, a CO2 canister attached to the inside of the downtube cover, and tire plugs in the handlebar ends. For more demanding jobs, the down tube can contain a Canyon LOAD Pouch, a bag that can be purchased separately on the site. Just quickly remove the bag, take inner tubes, CO2, tire levers and anything else you need to get going again.
Size-specific shock settings, dropper post travel and cockpit dimensions make the Lux Trail race-ready. The Lux Trail CFR models feature an integrated carbon Trail cockpit, while the XS frames are size specific.
High performance suspension
The rider has complete control of the suspension. A handlebar-mounted control allows you to quickly switch between suspension modes: Open, Pedal and Locked. Open mode allows you to use the full travel of the front and rear suspension to obtain maximum traction. Pedal mode keeps the bike higher in its travel, perfect for tackling climbs with less pedaling.
Locked mode completely locks out the suspension for incredible efficiency, allowing you to unleash all your power during sprints and paved climbs.
To have total control, you need incredible traction. The completely redesigned single-pivot suspension is now similar to the Lux World Cup, but we've added a suspended rocker that improves small-bump sensitivity. This is key to the Lux Trail's kinematics and makes it feel like a bike with much more rear travel. With a specific shock setting for sizes XS to M and for sizes L and XL, the Lux Trail offers performance for everyone.
Availability and specifications
The Lux Trail is available in six models. Two CFR models: Lux Trail CFR LTD and Lux Trail CFR. And four CF models: Lux Trail CF 9, 8, 7 and 6. All feature a carbon frame, remote suspension lockout and dropper seatposts. The new Lux Trail is now available on canyon.com.
