The new Italian champions of Enduro 2017 are Lorenzo Suding and Alia Marcellini, who bring an air of DH also to the enduro world. Last weekend the first stage of the Enduro Cup Lombardia was held, also valid for the Italian Enduro Championship in Tavernerio in the province of Como.
On the Lombard pre-Alps, which frame Lake Como, about 260 athletes from all over Italy fought over the 50 km of the race, with 2000 meters of altitude difference.
Lorenzo Suding (Team CPZ-Airoh-ION-Santa Cruz) won a very tight race ahead of Alex Lupato (Team CINGOLANI TREK) and Matteo Raimondi (GB RIFAR MONDRAKER ASD).
In 4th, 5th and 6th place came Denny Lupato (Team CINGOLANI TREK), Marco Milivinti (GB RIFAR MONDRAKER ASD) and Tommaso Francardo (SUPERNATURAL NUKEPROOF).
Very tight race since Saturday, with the PS1 Dosso Fragorato which put a strain on all the athletes, due to the hardness of the PS. Suding takes the lead, immediately ahead of Tommaso Francardo and Denny Lupato.
The following morning, in PS2 - Bolli, Alex Lupato gives everything and pulls out an exceptional time, followed by Matteo Raimondi, Denny Lupato. The first 6 have a gap of 5 seconds.
In PS3 - Boletto Tommaso Francardo wins over Alex Lupato and Johannes Von Klebelsberg (ANCILLOTTI FACTORY TEAM), but all the others follow a few seconds ready for anything in PS4 Pinera who will decide the winner of these Italian championships.
And in fact the paw came from Lorenzo Suding who, with a stratospheric time, manages to make the difference, and to inflict that detachment that the 2017 Enduro Italian Champion jersey guarantees him. On the podium to keep him company are Matteo Raimondi and Alex Lupato .
The women's race, on the other hand, confirmed the excellent form and skill of Alia Marcellini (Team VELO CLUB CICLI CINGOLANI) who set the best times in all 4 stages, fully deserving the title of Italian Enduro Champion 2017.
With her, on the podium, Laura Rossin (GB RIFAR MONDRAKER ASD) and Sara De Leo (TEAM CPZ-AIROH-ION-SANTACRUZ).
