Bi-World Marathon Champion Leonardo Paez has signed for next season with Soudal-Lee Cougan International Team. Soudal's off road team and Lee Cougan's brand ambassador will offer a new opportunity to the Colombian champion to exploit his talent in the most important races of the international calendar and with the third title to reach the most successful ever, Christoph Sauser and Alban Lakata.
The team is very proud to welcome in its ranks a two-time Marathon World Champion, one of the most popular athletes, winner of the most important international marathons. At 39, Leonardo Paez will strengthen the contingent of Soudal-Lee Cougan International Team runners who will boast other titled athletes in their ranks in 2022: the two-time European Champion Aleksei Medvedev and the 2013 Italian Marathon Champion Tony Longo who among the other has in his palmares also the gold medal at the 2005 Team Relay European Championship.

The arrival of Leonardo Paez is a new illustration of the ambitious face of Soudal-Lee Cougan International Team, the team will have another athlete of the highest level, an experienced biker and able to turn the races and win. Obviously, his goal is to confirm the successes of the 2021 season and to overcome them again with the colors of a new team, an important step in his career that obliges and does not diminish expectations.
