Apecchio, a place well known by the Veterans of the Downhill Italian, destination of several races and Italian championships about 20 years ago.
At the time there was the Green Woodpecker Association led by Dr. Valentini who organized the beautiful Saturday night party in addition to the race. The track was also traveled by Enrico dal Fitto, Bruno Zanchi, Corrado Herin, Bonazzi Giovanna, Bonanomi Gianluca, Pippo Marani, Pino Locchi and the first races of Alan Beggin, these people made the legend of the downhill Italian.
After about 20 years Daniele "Mouflone" with his staff of young people has re-proposed the event on 11 and 12 October as a gathering/race both for downhill what an enduro on the same route as 20 years ago. A race was organized on Sunday downhill/promotional enduro, called the beer trophy, for everyone even with vintage bikes and the most Vintage clothing for both men and women was awarded, the participation was numerous both of participants and spectators.
After many years Pino Locchi, 3 times world master champion, came to visit us with his bicycle from the 90s, also participating in the race.
The prizes were offered by the local breweries Amarcord, Collesi and Venere to which a huge thanks goes.
The event was organized by the I Mufloni Racing Team in collaboration with the municipality of Apecchio, Apecchio Citta della Birra, Pro Loco Apecchio and Serravelle di Carda and Monte Nerone, Ski lifts of Monte Nerone, Picchio Verde, Bike Land and the Italian Cycling Federation .
This event revived the history of downhill Italian.
We hope that the success of this event will be repeated in other years as well.
