Pesenti and Rossin are the new Italian champions
THE LOCATION

The Italian championship is an event that often makes history in itself, a dry race that puts a strain on the psychophysical strength of the athletes. Since Friday the enduro caravan has moved from all over Italy to meet in the Aosta Valley. In the small square the speeches revolved around the PS; the dust, the steeps and the fame of an extreme place that makes La Thuile a dreaded destination. Running in front of the glaciers, as happens in this little favor, is a real challenge, taming the trails a competition with yourself even before with the stopwatch, an experience that every athlete should try at least once.
THE TRACK
A few weeks before the event I contacted Enrico Martello, to find out how he would set up the PS of the Italian championship, his laconic answer left no doubts; a challenging track, to ensure that the winner can be the most complete athlete. The Aosta Valley organizer was speaking, 4 tests that combined some historical trails and real news, creating a mix of terrain and difficulties at the height of the event.

PS 1 Touriasse
The start alone is worth the entire race. An isolated rock, worthy of the best Rampage. Then a mix of mountain paths, meadows and rock gardens that can put the body and the mechanical means in difficulty. A truly intense start
PS2 Bellface
Go up north, from the center of the town it is spectacular to see the ribbons moved by the wind overhanging the rocks. A very technical steep PS not suitable for those suffering from vertigo. Walls that seemed to suck you down the valley with sharp bends, stones and dust made this PS the most feared by the group
PS3 K Trail
Back on the historical paths of La Thuile, the K is a classic, which has been revisited for the event. An infinite trail, with single track on the coast, where you can unleash all the watts and the usual traps, with roots and 'steps' that in other locations would be classified as jumps; but you know, here we are in another place ...
PS4 D
The final that leads directly to the village, a ride through the woods, trialistic sections, a lot of dust and in the end what has now been renamed the Rude climb, which awaits the bikers to suck up the little energy left.
THE RACE

With an Imperial PS 1 Marcello Pesenti (Cello) immediately mortgage the tricolor; with 14 '' trimmed on the second and 18 '' on the third, he immediately makes it clear who will be the man to beat today. With a second PS and the victory in the other two tests, the athlete of the Marchisio bike team puts the seal on a capital performance. Behind him the fight for second and third place is played Mirco Harvest e Thomas Francand, the two young promises of the national enduro chase each other throughout the race, with the athlete of the Giant VG team racing team who in the end will have the best for just over 2 '' on the CMC Cycling rider. They close the top five Marco Milivinti, Tub racing asd, e Erwin Ronzon, also from the CMC Cycling experience team.

At the female level, absolute domination of Laura Rossin, which leaves no room for the opponents, inflicting a considerable gap on them. Race that starts uphill for the exits champion Jessica Bormolini, Mr. Wolf asd, who, due to a wheel that did not want to swell, risks finishing the race even before starting it, still managing to finish in second place. and third Tormena Gaja of the wolves of the Aosta Valley. Unfortunate try for Olesia Ronzon fighting for the podium until the start of ps 4 when the broken handlebars put her out of the game.
In the Juniores category, a landslide victory of Simone Pellissero, Ancillotti Factory Team, capable of a result that would have earned him the sixth position in the overall standings, behind him Martin Lani, Team Fristad Mondraker, e Garella Andrew, also from the Ancillotti team.
An Italian championship that, as the organizers wanted, crowned the two strongest athletes, those who, even during the entire season, were able to interpret each track in the best possible way.
