Val Gardena (BZ), 17.04.2014 - At their premiere appearance i cyclists they called them "fat wheels" because, accustomed to the thin tires of racing bikes, they were struck by those things that would later be called mountain bikes, with wide (fat indeed) and clawed tires. Fat is a term that has lent itself well to mountain biking, naturally only for the original description of the wheels, because then fat, understood as lipids and the like, is the biker's most difficult opponent, almost more than a climb. That's why theSellaronda HERO TOUR from this year proposes a specific menu that those who go on a tour around the Sella group will be able to appreciate in the shelters that adhere to the initiative.
It is a combination of two or three plates studied by one note nutritionist, Adelheid Larch in Merano, a practicing sportswoman herself, and "adopted" by the chefs of seven mountain huts: the TabLà, the Pralongià and the Ütia Crëp de Munt refuge in Alta Badia, the Miky's Grill and the Fodom refuge in Arabba, the Salei at Passo Sella and Emilio Comici in Selva Val Gardena. All the dishes studied by Dr. Larch use typical local products, and practically can be considered zero kilometer. However the particularity of HERO GOURMET, this is the name of the project, is to provide the biker who faces the pedaling on the paths of the Dolomites, a lunch at high altitude or in the valley with an energy value ranging from 500 to 900 Kcalories, without giving up the pleasure of an appetizing dish typical of the Dolomite tradition. Bon appetite «The cuisine speaks of our territory and our mountains, which is why we wanted to offer HERO Gourmet to mountain bike hikers - commented Gerhard Vanzi, creator of the initiative - combining the gastronomic tradition of the lands at the foot of the Dolomites with the needs of nutrition suited to physical effort such as the HERO TOUR around the Sella». THEopening of the Sellaronda HERO TOUR (at the price of 75,00 Euro with MTB Guide and ski lift card) and therefore the availability of the HERO TOUR GOURMET menus is foreseen for Sunday June 22 and it will continue Until 21 September 2014.
