The Island of Elba is an area accustomed to breathing the atmosphere of the great Mountain Bike. After all, the history of the Capoliveri Legend Cup speaks for itself, with 12 editions under its belt and the pearl of the 2021 Marathon World Championship. Although it is just in its second edition, Capoliveri Legend XCO has already made a name for itself, thanks to its technicality and spectacularity which are recognized on an international scale.
The edition of Capoliveri Legend XCO scheduled for Saturday 16, Sunday 17 and Monday 18 April promises to consolidate the tradition of an island with a clear “bike” vocation. Easter Monday will see the protagonists of the world Cross Country in action in the third stage of the Internazionali d'Italia Series, and the great challenge has been enriched with another athlete of importance.
Jenny Rissveds, Olympic Champion at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Games, will be at the start of the HC Elban test, which is also the season debut for the Swede. The 27-year-old from Falun shows off the 31-Ibis Team jersey again this year, a newly inspired project that puts the athlete's well-being and fun ahead of the obsessive search for results. The name of the team recalls Article 31 of the United Nations Convention, which recognizes the child's right to rest, recreation and leisure.
After suffering from depression and eating disorders, and having retired from competitive activity for some time after the Olympic triumph, Jenny Rissveds has returned to grind results in the last two seasons, interpreting the discipline with seriousness but becoming, at the same time, a firm advocate for the safeguarding of mental health in sports.
The best of the Italian women's Cross Country will be waiting for her in Capoliveri, aiming to achieve a prestigious result, after having given important signals in the first stage of the World Cup in Petropolis.

Martina Berta (Team Santa Cruz) and Eva Lechner (Team Trinx) are undoubtedly the two most experienced and accredited athletes, but behind them they push the young women, starting with Sara Cortinovis (Team Santa Cruz) and the leader of Internazionali d'Italia Series Giada Specia (Wilier-Pirelli), both on the U23 World Cup podium.
The Capoliveri Legend XCO circuit, set up by ASD Bike Park Capoliveri with the advice of the blue technician Enrico Martello, measures 4500 meters and has 170 meters of elevation gain per lap. The final sector is of great technical importance, a downhill stretch that leads to the lower part of the ring, characterized by some passages that will test the technical skills of the athletes.
