Jaroslav Kulhavy, after having won the Czech marathon title, also came close to the Czech title in the cross country. A result that is extraordinary given that in the marathon test he had put one of the best specialists behind him, namely Martin Stosek and now, in the cross country, gave Ondrej Cink a hard time at the ripe old age of 37. He finished the race in second position just 26 seconds off first place.

The Olympic champion had not competed in XCO for a long time and paid for it with a delay in the starting position, which was not a major determining factor for the final result. " I think I went well, even if the beginning is a shame. It was very dusty and I couldn't breathe, but it was the same for everyone. I haven't done an XCO in a year and it was difficult at first, but I got better in the end. At my age the explosiveness is gone and this is not a 4 hour bike marathon. But it went well. I am particularly happy because my health respects me this year. Things are not as simple as they used to be, but I am working well ahead of the Bike Marathon World Championship in Denmark »Explained the rider at the finish line
