Perhaps one of the most complete athletes in the world of MTB retires: excellent technical skills and physique no less. Able to win in downhill and in cross country. His last race was the Australian National Championships last weekend where he won the Short Track race ahead of the specialists of the cross country. After a total of fourteen years of racing for Yeti (with a small parenthesis in Specialized) Graves will remain on the bikes of the Colorado brand, but will pass from rider to coach, or “Team Performance Coach” as they say overseas.

During his long career, Graves won world championships in 4X and Enduro, earned a bronze medal in downhill, represented Australia in BMX at the 2008 Olympics and won a total of 10 elite Australian national titles across five disciplines. Graves is also a cancer survivor after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in October 2018 and has publicly battled with chemo and radiation therapy.
How can we forget the 3rd place at the DH World Championships with an Enduro bike? Extraordinary. And his countless victories in the 4x: 2009 world champion and winner of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 world cup, before the “closure” of the 4x as an official UCI competition.

Jared Graves in the latter part of his career brought his extraordinary technique and athletic ability to enduro, winning important races and the overall World Series in 2014.

Graves also worked with the Yeti engineering team to develop many of their models, including the 303 DH, 4X full-suspension, DJ, limited-stroke BMX bikes, SB66, SB6 and SB150.
We wish Jared a bright future! Learn more about Jared Graves thanks to FANTAmtb.
