After dominating the Internazionali d'Italia Series season, Marco Betteo (Scott Racing Team) also confirmed himself in the tricolor test, coming out the winner on Fabio Bassignana (Trinx Factory Team).
ITALIAN HIGHLIGHTS MOUNTAIN BIKE
After a fairly compact start, in the third of the five scheduled laps a group of five athletes took the lead, including - in addition to Betteo and Bassignana - also Tommaso Ferri (Vallerbike), Nicolas Milesi (Ciclistica Trevigliese) and Gabriel Borre (Cicli Lucchini).
At the end of the fourth lap the challenge was reduced to just Ferri, Betteo and Bassignana, with the last two able to further highlight and duel for the Italian flag in the last lap.
"On the last climb Bassignana accelerated and managed to distance me, but somehow I managed to get back under the descent and place the decisive attack in the woods," says Betteo. “In the last few meters I sprinted even though I knew I had a margin: I cared too much about this Italian Championship, I wanted no one to be able to snatch it from me. After winning the Internazionali d'Italia Series, this is the continuation of a perfect season. "
Third final position for Tommaso Ferri (+0.38), ahead of Nicolas Milesi (+0.59) and Gabriel Borre (+1.39).
