High numbers also for this race and everything went perfectly, with a very high level mounted frame.
An already important weekend since the early days, where the President of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana was present on Thursday for a program that will also affect our DH off-road activity, given that a new ski lift will be rebuilt by 2025, thus enhancing the whole structure and this will also allow us in the next few years, as early as 2023, to be able to redo different parts of the track, making it even better thanks to the numerous indications of the competitors present and above all of the CT Simone Fabbri.
The Mayor of Borno, Matteo Rivadossi, declared that he was very satisfied with what has been done and that Borno wants to invest more and more in the DH and that also for the next few years he wants to nominate the location for other Cup races and why not, with the right precautions, even for an Italian Championship.
Last but not least, the big surprise for the organizers of this weekend was the visit of the President of the Fderciclismo Cordiano Dagnoni. Reason for great emotion for Riccardo Tagliabue and his entire team (Sport Inside – Downhill Italy) the presence at a tender of Downhill by the highest authority of the Federation, who was able to personally see the work that is taking place and above all the quality of the teams and riders present in the race.
This alone would be enough to declare the weekend a success, but without the races, the teams, all the companions and the riders who take to the track, nothing would make sense and so we come to the real races, which since Saturday have seen the assignment of the Acerbis award for the best split time to the very young protagonists: Filippo Murachelli and Rebecca Bruno, who also won their category on Sunday.
As for the Top Riders, a great performance by Vasco Bica, who won managing to get behind Francesco Colombo and Christian Hauser on the podium, while the winner of the last stage Marco Comerio finished fourth, followed by Andrea Gamenara. So in this category everything will be decided at the last test in Pian del Poggio.
As for the women, Lisa Gava won, followed by Carola L. Favoino and Gaia Bizzarri.
For male amateurs great success for Alvin Panzera, who managed to win in front of Davide Gatti and Domenico Calabria.
In the female Master Grazia Bufano climbed to the top step of the podium, second Martina Fumagalli and third Tiziana T. Finocchio.
For the Allievi category Christian Hauser and Sandy Quinci win, in the Junior Nicholas Fugazza and Gaia Bizzarri climb the top step of the podium.
Many other athletes also present in the other non-absolute categories and to complete this beautiful day there were the podiums of the Regional Champions of Lombardy and the winners were:
Nicole Fossati (Female Newcomer), Cesare Mainetti (Male Newcomer), Matteo Bosco (Male Student), Nicholas Fugazza (Juniores), Rosaria Fuccio (Elite Women), Martina Fumagalli (Women Master), Vasco Bica (Male Open), Alvin Panzera (Elite Sport), Nicola Balduchelli (Master 1-2), Paolo Alleva (Master 3-4), Oscar Colombo (Master 5) and Graziano Sala (Master 6).
