At the UCI Mobility and Bike City Forum, the President of APT Val di Sole and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole Luciano Rizzi has withdrawn the recognition that establishes the entry of the territory among the 18 destinations in the world that stand out for their vision and strategy linked to the promotion of cycling.

The good news had already arrived in the middle of summer, but on Tuesday 26 October at the UCI Mobility and Bike City Forum in Odense (Denmark) the ceremony that marked the entry of Val di Sole among the 18 recognized UCI Bike Regions was officially held worldwide.
A delegation led by the President of APT Val di Sole and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole Luciano Rizzi withdrew the recognition that elevates the Trentino area, already home to numerous world-class events, most recently the MTB World Championships in Last August, among the destinations that stand out for the vision and strategy linked to the promotion of cycling.
Thanks to major international events and important investments in the development of infrastructure and cycling policies, Val di Sole has become part of a restricted and prestigious club of Bike Region in the world, alongside territories such as Flanders (Belgium), Limburg. (Netherlands), Yorkshire (UK) and neighboring Tyrol (Austria).
Over the last 15 years, Val di Sole has been the protagonist of an extraordinary path in the field of events: starting from 2008, the Trentino valley has hosted three editions of the MTB World Championships (2008, 2016 and 2021), to which will add the one already assigned in 2026, as well as numerous editions of the MTB and Trial World Cup. Furthermore, on 11 and 12 December in Vermiglio, Val di Sole will welcome the cyclocross World Cup for the first time, with a unique event that will see the snow element as a great protagonist.

We are grateful to President David Lappartient and the entire International Cycling Union for this recognition, the culmination of a great work carried out over the years with vision, determination and consistency ”.
