A special edition, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the association, hosted in a strategic location on the outskirts of Turin, immersed in a context that combines history, nature and cycling culture.
The choice of this location is the result of the collaboration with Turismo Torino e Provincia and the link with Upslowtour – Pinerolese Terra di Bici, a project that has been able to transform a natural vocation into a concrete model of development linked to the bicycle.
Marcella Gaspardone, General Manager of Tourism Turin and Province:
«We are pleased to have brought the IMBA Italia Gathering to the province of Turin, an event that enhances our extraordinary Alpine territory. Bike tourism represents a strategic lever for the promotion of our territory and we are convinced that hosting this event can strengthen the reputation of the Pinerolo area as a mountain bike destination. Hosting the IMBA Italia Gathering means strengthening our commitment to active, responsible tourism in harmony with the environment.»
Two days of discussion, riding and common vision
Saturday, October 25th will be dedicated to conferences, round tables and exchange of experiences with associations, institutions and professionals in the sector. The meetings will be held in the neo-Gothic greenhouse of the Miradolo Castle, with coffee breaks and lunch provided by local caterers, and will end with a convivial dinner.
Sunday, October 26th we will hit the trails: MTB tours, field workshops and moments of informal dialogue in nature. The activities will take place in the hilly area of Pinerolo, with itineraries designed for different types of bikes, including e-MTBs.
The central theme of the Gathering 2025 will be: “Cycle tourism as a catalyst for local economies” An opportunity to explore virtuous collaborations between tourist boards, businesses, MTB associations and institutions. Through interventions and case studies, participants will be able to analyze how mountain biking can contribute in a concrete way to the sustainable development of territories, from the mountains to the plains.
A territory to discover, even outside the program
The Pinerolo area is now a very dynamic territory in the Italian bike scene. The Upslowtour project, born in 2021 thanks to the Pinerolo Mountain Union, has networked over 400 km of cycling routes, hospitality infrastructures and a network of local businesses dedicated to slow tourism.
Panoramic trails up to 2.400 meters above sea level, villages rich in history, charging points for e-bikes, cycle totems, bike racks, signage and digital maps: the aim of the project is to gradually make an increasingly ready, well-maintained and connected system operational.
The Gathering will therefore also be an opportunity to experience the territory, explore the paths of the Upslowtour project and enjoy the local hospitality. Even companions will be able to appreciate the cultural and gastronomic value of the area, among parks, museums, historic homes and good food.
Mauro Vignola, President of the Pinerolo Mountain Union: "We are really happy with the path taken so far with the Upslowtour-Pinerolese Terra di bici project, created to promote our territory through cycle tourism. Hosting the IMBA Gathering today is an important result, which rewards teamwork, long-term vision and the synergy built with Turismo Torino e Provincia. It is a great opportunity to introduce our valleys to a community of enthusiasts who share the values of respect, nature and active tourism".
