Team 31 was born from the desire to do something different: competition is ok but the focus will not be mainly focused on this. On the other hand, they pull more 30k on instagram than a national title 🙂
Queen of this project is Jenny Rissveds, Olympic champion 2016 in Rio, who later suffered a severe blow by retiring from competitive activity for a year, victim of a state of depression. This is where this project comes from and who better than Rissveds can put it into practice: in the last 2 years we have finally seen it return to its levels. Alongside her there will be Lina Gustaffzon and Kelsey Urban.
Kelsey is the 23 U2019 National Champion and United States National Team Athlete. Linn Gustaffzon, on the other hand, is a promising Swedish biker.
The team name also draws attention to Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that "every child has the right to rest and leisure, to devote himself to play and recreational activities".
The team was inspired by the personal journey of Olympic champion Jenny Rissveds. After overcoming a personal battle against eating disorders and depression that led to her quitting cycling, she returned to sports and became a leading advocate of mental health.
Team 31 will race on the new US-made Ibis Exie. Tom Morgan, President of Ibis Cycles, said: "When we designed the Exie we aspired to make a bike capable of competing at the highest level of the sport, partly to show what we could do, but also because we are huge fans of XC World Cup Racing.. "
Space for the video where we see this new team of cross country with a philosophy that will perhaps be more and more present in the future.
You can follow Team 31 on Social media coordinator and through their the website.
