Great success for Bikeup in Bergamo: 35.000 people!

The event dedicated to Green Mobility has seen growing numbers since 2022: next appointment from 5 to 7 May in Torni at the Parco del Valentino.

BikeUP – Electric Bicycle Power Festival is the first international fair, completely free and outdoors, dedicated to e-bikes, cycle tourism and light electric mobility.

After the success of the past editions (over 50.000 people attended the event in the last two years), the 14 edition took place last weekend, from Friday 16 to Sunday 2023 April, in the historic center of Bergamo. exhibitors and visitors with more than 35.000 people passing through the 3 days.

But that's not all, in 2023 the fair doubles dates and locations: The next appointment will be Turin, where BikeUp arrives for the first time from 5 to 7 May, within the evocative setting of Parco del Valentino.

Electric mobility is also growing rapidly in Italy. As per data published to ANCMA (Associazione Ciclo Motori e Accessori), in 2022 the registrations of electric motorcycles recorded a solid + 59% on the previous year. In particular, over 2022 million bicycles were sold in 1,7 with e-bikes which, thanks to 337.000 pieces, fly by +14% (+72% from 2019). A rapidly growing market which is also reflected in the large participation of exhibitors and the public present at BikeUP.

In 2023 BikeUP – which was held for the ninth edition in Bergamo – saw the adhesion of 90 brands and a public turnout in the 3 days of more than 35.000 people. Many enthusiasts but also curious and families among the public took the opportunity to participate to experiences, such as bike tours of the city or free trials, or to courses and workshops. In fact, 470 excursions were organized over the 3 days with various types of bicycles, while 4200 test rides were carried out with the models displayed on the stands. Great success also for the kids areas with over 600 children who participated with enthusiasm.

In fact, BikeUP 2023 is preparing to be an increasingly engaging event, so much so that the list of exhibitors presents some of the most important names in the e-bike sector, including: Atala, Bergamont, Bosch, Decathlon, Ducati, Flyer, Scott, Riese & Muller, Thok and Nilox. The fair will also see the participation of 100% electric scooter, motorcycle and car brands such as Niu, Volkswagen and Xev. Space will also be given to operators in the cycle tourism sector, from all over Italy and beyond, such as: Gran Canaria, Calabria with the Ciclovia dei Parchi and Abruzzo with the Gal Costa dei Trabocchi, Visit Piemonte.

“After the great success of the last two editions, and on the wave of growing interest in electric mobility in Italy as well, we wanted to double the appointment with BikeUP. In addition to the historic headquarters in Bergamo, we will also land in Turin. The places for the exhibitors in Bergamo sold out within a few weeks of the opening and we had a great membership with over 35.000 visitors who came to BikeUP to try out the latest innovations, but also browse the world of electric mobility. The next challenge awaits us in a few weeks in Turin where we will arrive for the first time and we can't wait!”, says Stefano Forbici, Co-founder and BikeUP Communications Manager.

The focus of the 6 days of the 9th edition of BikeUP are the free e-bike trials: on Saturdays and Sundays, visitors will be able to take short e-bike tours, accompanied by expert guides, with departures every hour, on different routes and types of e-bikes: e-MTB Full, e-Road powered by Ducati, Mtb front, city trekking and cargo bikes.

Space then for the courses, the laboratories of the "Banco BPM kids area", dedicated to children and teenagers, cycle workshop courses and the tech pills to learn manual, nose press and bunny hop like the true pros of downhill. All with a single goal: to offer the public the opportunity to try the experience of electric mobility for free, to discover the area and the pleasure of living in the open air.

Admission is free, with online registration required to participate in the various activities. In fact, the e-bike tours are limited in number.
