Massimo Ghirotto President of the Off-Road Commission of the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI) comments: “In Italy, enduro started in 2009 with the Superenduro Circuit and already in 2011 the first National Discipline Championship was organized in Limone Piemonte. Since then the discipline has come a long way but we are still at the forefront and happy that Italy is once again hosting a historic first, with the upcoming UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships. This event must be a source of pride for all the athletes, the organizers and the locality who have invested a lot in the sport and this discipline over the years. Val di Fassa and Trentino, with the splendid Dolomites, are a perfect theater for this event. I renew my good luck to William Basilico and all the staff for this which I am sure will be an unforgettable event".

In recent days, the FCI has appointed the current head coach of the Down Hill National Team as Technical Commissioner for the Enduro and E-Enduro disciplines. Simone Fabbri who, when reached on the phone, lets out some interesting information about the state of the work and his vision.
At the moment he is in a study phase, he is verifying all the information available, such as results, placements in the World Series, but not only and at the same time he is already in contact with some athletes. If you see the need for high specialization on the part of the athlete in electric, "a modern power stage which is an increasingly decisive special stage in races, it is not something for everyone, it requires experience and a truly high level of improvement in driving techniques” as far as enduro is concerned, however, it is absolutely possible to evaluate athletes coming from downhill, provided they are motivated and complete from an athletic and technical point of view.
Regarding a possible withdrawal of the Italian national team before the event, Fabbri confirmed and added: “It is essential that a group is created, great things are done together! Although the disciplines I deal with are individual, I have always believed in the value of the team and in the benefit that sharing and harmony brings to results."
The date on which we will know the names of those called up will still be 28 August, when registrations open.
The event promises to be an unmissable event for all enduro mountain bike enthusiasts, with four intense days that will highlight the talent and determination of the participating athletes. The invitation for all enthusiasts and the media is to come to Val di Fassa to closely follow the 2024 Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships and applaud the first World Champions in the history of both disciplines.
