The choice made by the FCI with the assignment of the tricolor test wanted to reward an area already well known among cycling lovers (with several recent passages of the men's and women's Giro d'Italia and the Giro Next Gen. Fubine in particular is home to a classic of the under23/elite calendar that takes place in the month of March, born in 2020 from the restart of the post lockdown and which has become a springboard for the young champions of the future.Monferrato, with its rolling hills dotted with dirt roads and paths, with a unique landscape, it lends itself well to hosting anyone who wants to cycle in nature: it is no coincidence that on 22 June 2014, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee registered the site “The winegrowing landscapes of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato” on the World Heritage List, confirming how much beautiful and precious this corner of Italy can offer.
The opportunity offered by the Rassegna Tricolore gravel then takes on some particular characteristics that make it a must for the people of the bicycle. In addition to the competitive spirit that drives all agonists in search of performance, the pleasure of pedaling through unique landscapes is added in this competition. Here is added a further factor which cannot fail to whet the rider's imagination: the by now rare possibility of competing side by side with the Professionals and trying to contend with them, or at least to try, for victory. In fact, the Italian Gravel championship provides for only one start for all categories: perhaps an unequal challenge, certainly an experience that will remain indelible in the minds of the protagonists.
The route is a circuit of 43 km (640 meters in altitude) with departure and arrival in Fubine, which touches the villages of Quattordio, Felizzano, Vignale, Camagna, Lu-Cuccaro and Altavilla. Men over 55 and women will have to complete two laps, the other categories three. The challenge is open to all FCI members aged 19 and over.
