"After talking to community representatives, telling them my story and our plans, they were positive and gave us their approval. It is an honor to be blessed by Simpcw First Nation, they could have easily said no as they have to many others and that would have been the end of the dream."
Part of the permit meant that Aggy had been accompanied on the trip by a First Nation cultural inspector. Dino, the surveyor was there to make sure nothing culturally relevant was disturbed, but in the end, having him around the crew meant so much more…
"We bonded over our love of animals, fishing and hunting. I think he enjoyed the creative process in what we were doing. He saw that it was much more than walking down a hill and pointing a camera at it. He even took a rake at one point and helped me clear an old game trail along a ridge through the forest that ran along the riverbed.”
“This is a nice piece of track now, I can't wait to show it to my daughter,” he said. I thought it was really cool."
