Elastic Interface's N3X technology allows for ultra-fast drying and unprecedented breathability of the pad. It's called N3X, pronounced NEX with an open e and it is the revolution in the world of cycling short pads by Elastic Interface.
Developed in the laboratories of the Italian brand, this innovative component of bike shorts is now recognized by one of the most prestigious design awards dedicated to sports items: the ISPO DESIGN AWARD.
GOREWEAR, a leading German company in the production of hi-tech sportswear, has chosen a customized pad with N3X technology for its Ultimate Bib-Shorts, presented in competition at the 2023 edition of the award.
Ultimate Bib-Shorts won the ISPO Design Award in the Bike/Commuting category and convinced the jury for:
- The innovative pad with 3D printing technology
- Production processes and sustainable materials
- Its breathability, compression, moisture management, quick drying
- The elegant look
“Several high-tech textile techniques come together here: 3D printing and an innovative weaving technology that seamlessly integrates different functional areas. The use of recycled materials and the waste-free production of the padding are another plus point” commented the judges of the ISPO Design Award.
N3X by Elastic Interface was created to offer temperature control in the delicate area of the saddle, ergonomic, selective, durable and long-lasting support during pedaling, and great breathability. The completely open cell lattice of the padding improves the passage of air flow and the dispersion of heat and humidity, reducing drying times and optimizing skin temperature management. This innovative padding uses 3D printing for the first time.
Taking up minimal space, the N3X pad is a zero waste product. Its production does not give rise to waste because it only uses what is needed, and any surplus is reused in the same production process. The production takes place without chemical components, the assembly is carried out with a mechanical process, without glues or gluing films.
Dedicated to endurance athletes looking for the ultimate cycling experience, the GOREWEAR Ultimate Bib Shorts with Elastic Interface's N3X technology offers particularly high comfort and long-lasting support, which you can count on even for the longest or most demanding bike rides.
“We are proud to have contributed to the awarding of this award. Together with GOREWEAR we have created, over time, extraordinary products dedicated to cyclists and this award recognizes not only the excellence and innovation of the product but puts a prestigious seal on a ten-year collaboration that has always been profitable" commented Massimo Fregonese, CEO of Cytech is the company that owns the Elastic Interface brand.
“Achieving optimal comfort in the saddle remains a major challenge for cyclists. With our new Ultimate Bib Shorts we've addressed this very issue, incorporating advanced fabric technology and a chamois developed in collaboration with Elastic Interface, which features waste-free 3D printing technology, as well as bio-based and recycled materials. This improves riding comfort, durability and eco-friendliness of the product” said Jürgen Erd, Product Leader at GOREWEAR
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 29 November 2023, from 15.00 pm to 17.00 pm, at ISPO's Future Lab (hall B1 / Blue Stage).
