Today GoPro (NASDAQ: GPRO) is proud to announce the video of the third annual Million Dollar Challenge, which allows $ 17,857 to be distributed to the 56 creators included in the video, to support them in their passions.
In September, GoPro launched its new flagship camera, the HERO9 Black. The HERO9 Black Million Dollar Challenge also kicked off on the same day, leaving creators just 80 days to shoot and share their most amazing clips. The challenge, organized on the GoPro Awards platform, invited creators from all over the world to brainstorm and unleash their creativity to submit their best shots made with HERO9 Black. The only requirement, in fact, was to use a HERO9 Black to create the contents.
“The Million Dollar Challenge is where we ask our customers what they can do with our new camera, in this case the HERO9 Black,” explains Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. “It's also a way to reward the GoPro community. Our community is the driving force behind the brand, and it is a pleasure for us to celebrate its creativity with the Million Dollar Challenge video and cash prizes that will help members further cultivate their passions. "
We are now in the third annual Million Dollar Challenge, and GoPro has recorded more than 29.000 content submitted from 125 countries. The GoPro team spent over 250 hours going through each clip to arrive at the final selection. At 6:00 am (Pacific Time) today, 56 awesome creators woke up (or maybe they were up from the night before, waiting) and found out they were immortalized in the HERO9 Black Million Dollar Challenge video, and won. $ 17,857 each, their share of the million dollar prize pool.
This year's content was made with HERO9 Black, featuring a new 23,6MP sensor capable of recording 5K video with HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilization and horizon alignment built into the camera. When paired with the Max Lens Mod accessory, HERO9 Black is capable of delivering the widest and most stable video ever seen on a HERO camera, allowing the user to discover new and exceptional perspectives. If you then add to these features a front display, a larger rear display and a battery with 30% longer life, it is easy to understand the success of HERO9 Black since its launch, which took place last September.
