Giant, a leading brand in the cycling technology sector, announces the arrival of the Trance X Advanced Pro 29, a trail model that follows the innovations of the recent Trance X 29, but which differs in the composite material with which it is made, for the updated Maestro rear suspension and for the new Flip Chip system, which allows riders to change the geometry of the frame to their liking. Taking inspiration from the design of the already established Trance Advanced Pro 29, the new range has been designed for riders looking for the speed and agility of their predecessors, and who can now enjoy a suspension system with increased travel, ideal for tackle the most challenging tracks.

In this regard, the new Maestro suspension set offers 135mm of rear travel (20mm more than that mounted on the Trance Advanced Pro 29), which absorbs the most consistent shocks and allows you to maintain a responsive and fluid driving feeling. The shock absorber with Trunnion attachment has a low leverage ratio, which ensures more efficient braking and pedaling performance. This design causes the bike's center of gravity to be lower and the chainstays to shorten, which results in greater stability and better climbing performance. Among the other improvements made to the rear suspension, the new rear suspension bearing technology and the materials used to increase resistance without causing excessive friction stand out. Looking at the front of the bike, the 150mm fork completes the shock package, ensuring a balanced feeling at every stage of the ride.

“Our main goal was to improve the stability of the bike,” commented Jan Cees Schellenbach, Giant's Global Off-Road Category Manager. “Furthermore, thanks to the Flip Chip system, cyclists can take advantage of the versatility of a vehicle with a double soul. When the switch is set to the lower position, the Trance X Advanced Pro 29 is ideal for tackling the trails in an aggressive and fun way. When set in the upper position, the bike becomes perfect for technical climbs and fast descents.

The frame of the new Trance X Advanced Pro 29 is made of Advanced Grade composite material, which is 25% lighter than the alloy in which the Trance X 29 is built. This material has been molded to offer a rigid and smooth ride, without sacrifice the stability needed to steer.

One of the features that make the Trance X Advanced Pro 29 unique is the ability to modify the geometry of the frame according to your preferences. The Flip Chip system placed on the upper connecting rod allows you to choose between a more or less open steering angle and seat tube, adjustable according to your riding style and route: the steering angle can vary from 66.2 ° to 65.5 ° , while the angle of the seat tube between 77.9 ° and 77.2 °. Changing these parameters also affects the height of the bottom bracket, which can be lowered by 30mm or raised by 40mm compared to the default position.

Over the years, Giant's team of engineers and mechanics has tested the effectiveness of the Flip Chip system on various models of racing bicycles. One of the first was the prototype of the Giant Glory, bike from downhill used by Giant Factory Off-Road Team riders. In addition to this, numerous athletes and ambassadors provided their valuable feedback and impressions: among them Adam Craig – Olympic XC champion and Enduro professional.

In addition to the new shock setup and its modern geometry, the Trance X Advanced Pro 29 boasts other features designed for trail-riders. For example, it features built-in guards on the chainstays and along the down tube, as well as extra protection at the bottom of the down tube, designed to protect the frame from impact during transport. The frame itself, which features integrated cable routing, has been designed to accommodate oversized tires, up to 2.5 ”. All accompanied by Giant wheels and tubeless tires.
