In view of the new season, the 2023 Ghost Factory Racing Team made a first retreat with training sessions focused on physical fitness and technique. An air of novelty with the entry of Isla Short, the Scottish born in 1996, and the renewed shirt also signed by Maloja.
Sure, you know a lot of athletes on the MTB circuit, some a little better than others, and that sometimes leads to a partnership at some point. We had already been in close contact with Isla for years and she always expressed her appreciation of our work. On the other hand, we admired and respected the fact that she was able to make her own way so extraordinarily well. But at this point, she's reached her limits and so it was natural for us to explore the possibilities of cooperation. And after the first conversation it was already clear to both sides: We have the same goals and ideas and therefore quickly came to an agreement. Isla is involved in many projects beyond sport, this shows how multifaceted she is. We look forward to working together and are sure that together we can take another step forward – Thomas Wickles, D.S
I've been drawn to Ghost Factory Racing for the past few years as I've observed the teams on the World Cup circuit from the outside. The people around the team have created something very special, an environment that welcomes uniqueness and where athletes can thrive both athletically and personally. I admire the consistency and ability to take the girls to the highest level and their ability to lift each other up through tough times. I think this demonstrates that the Ghost ethos is working, and it's a place I feel very privileged to have been welcomed into. It is rare to find a team capable of winning, with excellent equipment and at the same time being able to take care of their riders on a human level. I can't wait for the 2023 season to start – Isla Short
