Safety on the pedals is a fundamental factor, not only for professional athletes and cyclists, but also, and above all, for all those who use the bicycle for their daily journeys in the city, whether to go to work or for an outing to the park. Garmin with its Varia rear-view radars provides useful and easy-to-use tools that appeal to a wide audience: from the advanced cyclist to the mileage grinder, to the simple citizen who chooses the bike for daily mobility. Among the latest in the series, the new Garmin Varia RVR315 (Rear View Radar) and Varia RTL515 (Radar Tail Light) rearview radars which, thanks to the Varia application, can also interface with your smartphone, transforming it into a display capable of showing visual warnings when approaching vehicles from behind the cyclist.

The new Varia RVR315 is aimed at those who use the bicycle for their daily journeys in the city, where the traffic is always constant, but which does not necessarily have a cycle computer on the handlebars. Thanks to the new Varia app, Garmin radars can in fact interact with a normal smartphone (where compatible) transforming it into a real monitor from which you can view the oncoming vehicles behind you.
To make the signals even easier to understand, the application uses, in addition to sound warnings, simple graphics and three colors to distinguish three levels of danger: green indicates that the situation is under control, yellow that a vehicle is on its way and the red that a car is approaching at high speed.

The Varia RTL515, in addition to the functions listed for the Varia RVR315, has an integrated rear light that is visible up to 1,6 kilometers during the day, so that vehicle drivers can easily locate the cyclist along the roadway. In addition, the Group function allows the instrument to emit a low intensity light, less annoying to the eyes of companions when pedaling with other people, but still visible to motorists.
When used with a compatible smartphone, the new Varia RVR315 or RTL515 with BT technology can be paired with Garmin's new Varia App, allowing cyclists to view the traffic of approaching vehicles on the smartphone screen.

In addition to the round section and aero cusp mounting brackets, a new D-Shaped square section fixing system enriches the contents of the package.

The new Varia RVR315 and Varia RTL515, available from the end of May, have a suggested retail price of € 149,99 and € 199,99 respectively.
