After the morning dedicated to the 3rd round of the Italian Youth Cup, won by CR Friuli, on CP Alto Adige and CR Lombardia, at 12 the protagonists of the 15th round of the Internazionali d'Italia entered the "track" in Vermiglio Series. First start for junior men and all female categories. Great battle until the last lap between Moreno Pellizzon (5th at the European Championships in St. Wendel), Stefano Sala and Alessandro Naspi, who then arrived in this order after the last winning attack of the Friulian Pellizzon. With the third place Alessandro Naspi has nevertheless kept the white jersey as leader of the category.
Absolute domination among junior women instead for Chiara Teocchi, also back from the brilliant test at the European Championships, which inflicted more than three minutes on Rebecca Gariboldi and more than five on Beatrice Prataviera.
Great victory also among the open women by the Mexican Daniela Campuzano, who lined up the blue, Lisa Rabensteiner, who remains the leader among women under 23, and Serena Calvetti who continues to wear the red jersey symbol of the first woman elite of the Internazionali d'Italia Series.
Under the umpteenth downpour, fortunately brief, at 14.30 pm with the careful direction of the Organizing Committee Grandi Eventi Valdisole, the last race of the day started. After the first rounds of "study", Marco Aurelio Fontana broke the delay and with a peremptory attack he detached everyone. Despite a fall on the penultimate lap, Fontana finished alone with his arms confirming himself as the absolute leader of the federal challenge.
Two athletes from the Forestry Corps get on the podium with Fontana, in second place Luca Braidot and in third Nicolas Pettinà, first among the under 23 Nicolas Samparisi, while the category leader remains Gioele Bertolini.
Final appointment of the Internazionali d'Italia Series 2014 next Sunday in Volpago del Montello TV, where the Italian Team Relay Championship will take place on Saturday.
