Fontana, Casadei and Bormolini silver medals at the WES

The WES e-Bike Series took to the trails around Ascona-Locarno on Saturday for e-bike battles Cross-Country (XC) and Enduro. Nicola Casadei, Marco Aurelio Fontana and Jessica Bormolini are second in their respective categories.

The day started early for the Enduro riders, with the first biker at 8:00 in the morning. From the Paddock, the transfer took you very high, well beyond the splendid Lake Maggiore, the starting point for the five timed phases of the day.
A mix of classic and flow singletrack, challenging and slow technical sections. The winner is Gustav Wildhaber (Cube Action Team) with our Nicola Casadei to fight until the end. Among women, 2nd place for Jessica Bormolini, Casadei's teammate at the Scott Mr Wolf Ebike Store Racing Team.

Cross Country
The WES XC race in Ascona-Locarno has been described as the best XC course that Olympians Marco Fontana and Nathalie Schneitter have ever seen.
Perfect track conditions made for spectacular races: fast pace and guaranteed spectacle. The race took six laps of the circuit, totaling just under 1.000m of elevation gain.

The winner of the women's XC is Nathalie Schneitter with Sofia Wiedenroth 2 ^ while in the men's field Jerome Gilloux is impregnable, already winner of the French national team last Sunday in front of Absalon and Martinez. This time the beaten is Marco Aurelio Fontana, but the author of a beautiful race himself. 3rd place for Gustav Wildhaber.
