The new criteria for defining the off-road ranking, which meets the requests of the regional committees and which represents an important and innovative revolution, will officially come into force starting from the 2024 racing season.

The scoring system, which determines the new ranking for the 2024 season, has been included in the 2024 Implementation Rules of the Off-Road Sector, anticipated to all CCRRs and which will be published on the federal website after approval by the Federal Council.
The main innovation in the ranking concerns the criteria for counting points which, on the model of the UCI ranking, will no longer be linked to the calendar year. For the Youth-Agonists and Master categories, the scores will be updated weekly taking into account the races (and placings) in the previous 365 days. This will allow, at any time of the year, to have a ranking that always covers a year of activity. Only the ranking of December 31st, therefore, will include the points accumulated during the calendar year, while, for example, the mid-January ranking will include the scores accumulated from mid-January of the previous year onwards.
The ranking update, as mentioned, will be weekly and will include the races of the last weekend. The published ranking will be used for the starting grids for the following races.
The best two scores obtained in regional competitions, the best six obtained in national competitions, all the scores obtained in international competitions and Italian championships contribute to forming the ranking.
For some time the sector had been thinking about how to make the ranking more compliant with the new needs, also with the help of the regional committees and the companies themselves. The new calculation system, modeled on that of the UCI, will allow for a more immediate snapshot of the real values and will also have the aim of protecting the growth of generations of the youth sector.
