With winter just around the corner and rapidly falling temperatures, this period of high pressure is still being used to continue the maintenance work of the Fassa Bike Park and the creation of new lines without stopping.
The goal is to get ready for summer 2021 and the awaited appointment with the MET Enduro World Series Val di Fassa with a wider offer dedicated to mountain biking in the valley. For this reason, improvements are being made on the existing paths and the tracing of new trails dedicated to both the bike park and the Sellaronda Tour.
One of the most popular trails during the 2020 season was undoubtedly Rodeline: a succession of banked curves and jumps to be connected, where you can let the bike run in a unique flow from top to bottom. The news is that this line has been extended up to the Lupo Bianco, bringing it to a total of about 4km and 500 meters in altitude.
The complete Rodeline will have as its initial section the one on which we shot this summer, to which will be added a central portion in enduro style, about 1 km long and characterized by a continuous ups and downs with various relaunches and a final more flow section, but with some passages. north shore and some natural sections that make the most of the terrain of that wood.
Like Icarus in the Col Rodella area (built in 2020), the new Rabbe trail on the Belvedere side will also be an easy trail for everyone, built here to entertain and at the same time serve the Sellaronda Tour. Currently in the Belvedere area the Sellaronda Tour runs a fairly technical portion of Infinity, which you can choose to skip along the Rabbe Trail. This alternative line arises from the recovery of an old abandoned path that crosses a beautiful larch and pine forest for about 1 km. The trend will also in this case be flow with some north shore wood structure that helps to overcome delicate natural areas with roots and springs.
We are proceeding in order, but the Fassa Bike staff already have permits and authorizations for several works which, with 6 ski lifts already serving the park, project the town to an even wider development in the coming seasons. One of the new trails in particular is practically already completed and the name says a lot about its character: Animal House!
If on the one hand, with the easy and flowing routes, you want to give space and greater accessibility to the path network, on the other hand you don't want to forget the enduro character of the location. Animal House, of which not much can yet be revealed, except that in some passages it is in effect a black track, will be one of the race lines of the Enduro World Series 2021.
Naturally, the works will continue until the snow arrives and will resume when it melts.
