The FAR Gravel Cannondale Alé has three routes: 50, 100 and 150 km open to cyclists of all levels, who can test themselves using any type of bike, from traditional gravel to e-bike. The departure, "French style", is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, with arrival scheduled until midnight. You will cycle through plain woods, embankments, canals and paths of grass and clay, around swamps that will fill with charm at sunset, leaving everyone speechless in front of the flamingos that populate the area.
The event enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Argenta, which has been working for years for the cycling promotion of the area, rich in history, culture and gastronomy. Departure and arrival will be Argenta, halfway between Ferrara and Ravenna (hence "FAR"): three key cities inserted in the surprising environmental context of the Po Delta Park and which - united by the ancient river course - give life to the itinerary of the FAR Gravel Cannondale Alé, which will also touch the sea at the Lidi di Comacchio.
The first Italian Gravel Championships of the Italian Cycling Federation will take place on the same route as the cycling tourism on Sunday 18th. The first historic edition of the Tricolors of this discipline will in fact be part of the weekend dedicated to the gravel world, effectively allowing amateurs to ride along the path of the champions.
Simone Maltagliati, Marketing Manager Italy, Cannondale: "This pedaling adventure open to all perfectly reflects the Cannondale philosophy 'Come ride with us - ride with us': inclusion is the key word, because in the bike world everyone is welcome and alongside the FAR Gravel we set ourselves the goal to bring as many cyclists and cyclists as possible to the spirit of gravel. We believe that with the right vehicle there are no routes that are too challenging or cyclists not up to par and that is why we are constantly working to improve the cycling experience of our varied audience. Being present at Argenta reminds us how important the concept of 'making community' is in this sector, feeling part of a whole where arriving first does not count and the important thing is to participate.".
Raffaele Brunaldi, founder and organizer of FAR Gravel Cannondale Alé: "FAR Gravel was born 5 years ago from the idea of a group of friends to bring cycling back to Argenta after the 80s-90s, when champions darted along the city streets. In the meantime, however, cycling has changed a lot, with the arrival of gravel and the explosion of cycle tourism. The FAR Gravel project stems from the remarkable potential of our Primaro Route, the commitment of the Municipal Administration of Argenta towards the exploration of cycling possibilities, the passion for cycling and the spirit that moves all our amateurs. Argenta, with its endless fields, silvery water valleys - in fact - and its history, was chosen to host the first Italian FCI Gravel Category Championship and this fills us further with pride.".
FAR Gravel Cannondale Alé does not provide any ranking or ranking, but rich prizes to be drawn, including two Cannondale Adventure model city bikes. During the two days, inside the FAR Village which brings together experts and curious of the sector as well as newbies and families, it is possible to test the Cannondale range of gravel bikes both muscular and pedal assisted in the field.
