Fabian Rabensteiner's magical moment seems to have no end. After winning the XCM European Championship, Fabian today confirmed that he is the strongest marathoner in Italy by winning his second title of Italian XCM Champion.

On the eve of the Marathon dell'Appennino, a race valid as the Italian XCM 2022 championship, the predictions gave two names above all, that of Fabian Rabensteiner and that of Samuele Porro, in practice it seemed an internal challenge to the Wilier Triestina - Pirelli Factory Team and we are sure it would have gone just like this if Porro hadn't had the misfortune that caused the front crown to break after an impact, a more unique than rare failure, which cut the Como biker out of action for the victory after not even 10 km of race.
At that point, Fabian took on his shoulders the burden of defending the tricolor jersey and keeping it at Wilier Triestina-Pirelli. Fabian rode intelligently staying in the leading group until he was thinned enough to launch the winning attack and make it to the finish solo and clinch his second career XCM national title.
“Today went really well, but I'm really sorry for Samuele because he had prepared this Italian well and he deserved so much. I was always able to stay ahead to control the race, then in the second long climb I attacked and felt good and pushed until the finish.
