Italian tradition and the latest industry news: the winning mix of the seventh edition of the Padua International Bicycle Fair
Once again this year, registrations for the next edition of the Padua International Bicycle Fair have started well in advance since January: the organizers can already declare that the exhibition halls dedicated to the September event are sold out. With the record figure of 500 exhibitors and 55.000 visitors in 2013 ExpoBici has fully earned the role of the Italian exhibition dedicated to bicycles, and 2014 promises to be equal if not better than the previous edition.
Alongside the highly successful initiatives already launched in past editions, important innovations are announced for both participating companies and visitors.
Work has already begun for the 4th edition of the "ExpoBici Innovation Award": The Jury will evaluate the new products of 2015 by rewarding the innovation, but also the design, the technical qualities and the value for money of the products in competition, which will be divided into 7 categories: MTB, Road, Urban / E-Bike, Components, Clothing Accessories and Bike4Fun.
After the great success of the launch of the showroom MACRO -Fixed Gear & Bike Polo Show There will also be an entire pavilion dedicated to fixed gear lovers this year: in addition to the Bike Polo tournament, visitors will be able to admire the best of the latest creations from companies operating in the wonderful world of fixed gear.
Another usual appointment will be the one with the Test day, Friday September 19 starting from the center of Galzignano Terme: an entire day dedicated to testing the bikes that will be found in the shops in 2015. An event dedicated to professionals, dealers and journalists, but also open to enthusiasts: registrations will be open from May, while the ExpoBici team is already active in the preparation and improvement of the test routes that were so successful in the last edition. “We hope to beat the 2013 attendance record which saw the presence of 1.500 bikers and the carrying out of 4.500 tests, with over 300 test bikes made available by the participating companies” - comments Paolo Coin, CEO of PadovaFiere Spa.
The Test Day will be the occasion for a great news of the 2014 edition: the Comparatives BiciLive.it. ExpoBici is enriched by the collaboration of the BiciLive.it team and presents the Comparative Test Days: in order to give a further and in-depth service to the visitors of the event and to the Italian bikers, on Friday 19 September Galzignano will see the development of the comparative tests of mountainbike and road models selected by the testers of BiciLive.it. Different parameters will be examined that will compare the models just presented by the manufacturers. Even e-bikes will be examined and tested during the days of the fair in the paddocks of the test area and along the city route dedicated to urban bikes. “In the coming months, the models that will participate in the comparisons will be selected and presented and the evaluation parameters of each comparative campaign will be explained” - explains Matteo Cappé of Bicilive.it.
Another novelty of the next ExpoBici will be the first edition of the BTB - Bike Tourism Exchange, organized in collaboration with Cicloturismo and MTB Magazine, official media partners of the initiative. BTB will be a new exhibition dedicated to cycling tourism: Tourism bodies, bike hotels, farmhouse restaurants e territorial promotion consortia they will be able to enhance and promote their cycling holiday opportunities to an ever wider audience of passionate cyclists.
