Exact Cross Leonhout: Van Aert again on Van der Poel and Pidcock

New battle between the big three: Van der Poel was highly motivated but once again a few too many mistakes benefited the opponents who come back playing everything in the final sprint.

Today challenge on Loenhout's course in the Exact Cross: course with many artificial sections and lots of mud. But the protagonists do not change.

Again today Mathieu Van Der Poel was super on the ball and put Pidcock and Van Aert to the whip, often forced to chase. Tom Pidcock's race was very nice, and even today he managed to keep up with the 2 purebred horses. Everything was played in the last lap, as usual with a heart-pounding pace, in which everyone wanted to take the lead. Van der Poel didn't want to get to the sprint and with his explosiveness in the technical sections it seemed sufficient to win but, in the muddy section, he missed the trajectory risking a crash and Van Aert and Pidcock returned.

It's the final sprint with Van Aert narrowly winning over Van der Poel and Pidcock.

Among the women, the Dutch Shirin Van Anrooij wins again ahead of the very young Marie Schreiber and Manon Bakker. First of the Italians, Sara Casasola (17th) of Selle Italia Guerciotti.
