EWS # 6: Martin Maes and Cecile Ravanel win

Source: press release

The curtain closes on the fourth edition of the GranFinale Enduro World Series in Finale Ligure, an event that always gives great emotions and where the flavor of pure mountain bike competition blends with the multi-sport and outdoor soul of this territory.

Martin Maes (BEL) and Cecile Ravanel (FRA) win the Bluegrass FinalEnduro powered by Sram, a physical and complete race with a high technical content, with trails that once again leave all competitors amazed for quality and variety.
Unanimous judgment of the 500 riders competing from 34 nations: these 7 special stages were the most beautiful of all the four editions of the Enduro World Series which took place here in Finale Ligure and the mix between the first day more downhill and the second more enduro and pedaling, just perfect.

If the Frenchwoman of Commencal Vallnord Enduro Team Cecile Ravanel already had the absolute title of World Enduro Champion in her pocket from the previous race and the victory here at the Final has done nothing but confirm her supremacy that she has shown throughout this season , the American Richie Rude (Yeti Fox Shox Team) had to bend at the speed of Martin Maes (Gt Factory Racing Team), settling for second position today, a result that still allows him to become World Enduro Champion for the second time.
Richie is the first male athlete in history to succeed in the feat of confirming himself for two years in a row at the top of this spectacular discipline.

In the Under 21 Men the fight for the title saw the triumph of the French Adrien Dailly Lapierre Gravity Republic, while in the Under 21 women the fast German Raphaela Richter (Radon Magura Factory Racing) won the title. In the Master category to take home the title is the American Michael Broderick (Kenda - Intense). The result of two Italians who both on the podium in their respective categories is of absolute prestige. It is Greta Seiwald (Focus Xc Italy Team) third in the Under 21 women category and the always fierce and very fast Bruno Zanchi (Team Airoh ION Santacruz) second of the day in the Masters.
Chris Ball Manager of the Enduro World Series on his return to the paddock area after having witnessed the special stages in person declares: "This edition of FinalEnduro was the one with the highest public participation ever recorded in the history of the Enduro World Series and this is a great result, very important for our sport ”.

Thousands of fans who crowded the waterfront during the weekend and participated in the large exhibition area of the Flow Festival and then during the race crowded along the entire route of the seven tests to cheer the strongest athletes in the world and experience first-hand a 'unforgettable experience.
The Finale area is therefore confirmed as one of the best places in the world for mountain biking, one of the few places in the world and certainly the only one in Italy where following the flow of the paths you can descend from over 1.000 meters of the Ligurian Alps directly to the sea, following natural lines and in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.

In addition to this it is one of the places where the passion and participation of the entire host community is strongest and where riders love to come and race. Bikers love Finale so much that they choose it as a place to say goodbye to a competitive career. Last year it was Fabien Barel's turn, while this year other mountain bike legends such as Anne-Caroline Chausson, Nicolas Vouilloz, Kelli Emmett and Anka Martin greeted the competitions to the applause and screams of the public.
Riccardo Negro vice president of the organizing committee Finale Outdoor Resort declares “it is an honor to perceive all this transport for our locality and our territory, we are going in the right direction and these great events are a very important global showcase that we must continue to make the most of”.

The show throughout the weekend on the seafront of Finalmarina was memorable, the Flow Festival event with all the collateral activities enriched the event and offered active entertainment for the public who, including mountain bike courses, guided tours and much more. travato involved like never before.
The message that Finale Ligure and the whole Finale area launches to the world is clear, it is an invitation to participate in large numbers in the next edition of the Enduro World Series GranFinale already set for September 30th - October 1st 2017.

In the next issue of 365mountainbike an extensive report.
