Before talking about the race, let's start from the beginning. What is the Commonwealth? The Commonwealth of Nations (acronym CN) is an intergovernmental organization of 54 independent states, all united (except Mozambique and Rwanda) by the past belonging to the British Empire, of which the Commonwealth is a sort of voluntary development. The total population of the member states is over two billion people. The word Commonwealth derives from the union of common (common) and wealth (well-being), i.e. common well-being.
The favourites win the Cross Country races, namely Evie Richards (Trek Factory, who gets her first major win after the break due to an injury) and Sam Gaze (Alpecin Fenix), who had to fight to the end with fellow countryman Ben Oliver. It must be said that the list of starters was not very numerous in the 2 races, with a starting grid among the women of 10 competitors! Richards still had to keep up with the South African Candice Lill and the Scottish Isla Short, not the latest arrivals, even if Zoe Cuthbert slipped into 2nd place.
