The 2 “electric” champions for 2022 are Florencia Espineira (Orbea Fox Enduro Team) and Yannick Pontal (BlackBox Test Pilot Program).

Espineira wins the race and the championship

Espineira completed his championship in the best possible way, winning the EWS-E race in Finale Ligure by a good 19 seconds and in the meantime consolidating the overall title of the series.

Sofia Wiedenroth (Specialized Racing) also achieved her best career finish, ending the season in second place in the overall standings, with the Italian Alia Marcellini completing the top three.

In today's race Espineira won, but a special mention goes to Harriet Harnden (Trek Factory Racing) who finished second in her first EWS-E race, beating mentor and three-time EWS champion Tracy Moseley in third place in the race. Alia Marcellini is 10th.

Pontal played it safe in today's game to secure the series overall

In the men's competition, Pontal has already scored two wins at the start of today's race, giving him enough points to play it safe, finishing in ninth place, more than enough to secure the overall standings. Pontal was the first ever EWS-E winner when the series started in Zermatt, Switzerland in 2020, and despite three race wins to his name, the overall title had eluded him to date.

Italian Andrea Garibbo (Haibike) finished second in the overall standings after strong performances throughout the season, while Edgar Carballo Gonzalez (Orbea Fox Enduro Team) finished third.

In today's men's race, it looked like two-time EWS champion Richie Rude (Yeti / Shimano EP Racing) was about to win an EWS-E on his first attempt, leading the race to the last two stages of the day. However, with insanely close times with Adrien Dailly (Lapierre Overvolt Team), there was no room for error and Rude's disappointing times in the final stages saw Dailly take the win. Tiago Ladeira (Miranda Factory Team) finished second and Rude was forced to settle for third. Andrea Garibbo is 5th while Matteo Raimondi is 7th.

In the overall team competition, the Orbea Fox Enduro Team won, with Miranda Factory Team in second and Pole Enduro Race Team in third.
