When the Dolomiti Superbike kicks off in exactly 100 days, the elite of international mountain biking will compete for victory on the three routes of 123, 85 or 60 kilometres.

But it is not only top athletes or ambitious cyclists who are welcome at the South Tyrolean mountain bike classic. The organizers are also aimed at mountain bikers who want to experience the 3 Peaks/3 Zinnen Dolomites region with all their senses on an e-bike.
The Dolomiti Superbike, from its first edition in 1995 onwards, has earned the reputation of being one of the most difficult MTB Marathons in the world. Anyone who covers 60 km (1570 meters in altitude), 85 km (2360 m altitude) or 123 km (3400 m altitude) on his mountain bike and arrives at the finish line in Villabassa after great efforts beaming, can feel like a superhero or a superheroine. But so he has very little time to enjoy the majestic mountain landscape in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The organizers of the renowned sporting event have always recognized the signs of aging and therefore want to attract more and more e-bikers to the 3 Peaks Dolomites region who can appreciate the Dolomiti Superbike. “If a mountain biker hears 'Dolomiti Superbike', he almost certainly immediately thinks of the efforts, hardships, tribulations and hard work on the mountain bike. For many participants, the search and partly even the overcoming of one's limits are the fascinating aspects of our competition. And for these mountain bikers it will have to be the same in the future. Despite this, we are interested in addressing new segments of the population and making them passionate about our event. For this we rely on the e-bike, with which the classic distance of 60 kilometers can be covered without any problems”, explains the president of the organizing committee Kurt Ploner.
Dead battery? No problem
In this regard, the organizers have also fulfilled their tasks in the planning: two charging stations will be available along the route. The e-bike batteries can be recharged in Dobbiaco at the Nordic Arena or in Prato Piazza. The e-bikers will start off in a block of their own, separated from the other mountain bikers and, of course, they will be included in a dedicated ranking, although the central theme in this case is not so much setting the best time as living a unique experience in the heart of the Sexten Dolomites.
Entries for the Dolomiti Superbike 2023 on Saturday 8 July are in full swing and continue to be possible on the page https://onreg.datasport.com/suedtirol-dolomiti-superbike-villabassa-i-2023. Compared to last year, the participation fee has been reduced by the organizers and amounts to 90 euros until 1 July. Each participant will receive a goodie bag containing a gift, quality products from the 3 Peaks Dolomites region, information material, the bib with the timing chip and a voucher for the Pasta Party. Almost 2000 mountain bikers have already signed up, three months before the start of the spectacular MTB Marathon.
