The Slovakian champion, 3 times world champion on the road, was caught in Montecarlo while driving a scooter while intoxicated. The facts date back to last May 12 but only now have they leapt to the news. Peter Sagan has left a message on social where he apologizes for this behavior.
THE FACTS
Sagan was forced to take a breath test and a BAC of 1,46mg/l was found, three times higher than the legal limit of 0,50. And so the immediate withdrawal of his license and the express trial that led him to three months' imprisonment took place. Penalty suspended though.

A harsh sentence because the Slovak was a repeat offender, having already stumbled upon the same crime, always on the streets of the Principality (2021). In 2021 Sagan was fined 5 euros for violating the curfew linked to the pandemic and resisting a public official.
As a reminder, Sagan intends to no longer compete in World Tour events in 2024, to devote himself to preparing for the mountain bike event at the Paris Olympics, his latest career goal.
