Italy still protagonist in the most important freeride circuit in the world.
Yesterday at Crankworx Innsbruck Slopestyle 2018, Diego Caverzasi got on the podium of the second stage of the Freeride MTB World Tour - Diamond Series, also valid for the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship.
After the third place conquered in the inaugural stage of Rotorua, New Zealand, yesterday in Austria, he confirmed himself among the best athletes in circulation in this crazy and fascinating two-wheeled discipline in the world.
Like a year ago, the American Nicholi Rogatkin excelled on the beautiful Austrian course, pulling a front tailwrap on the last jump that allowed him to finish his race with 93 points in front of Canadian Brett Rheeder, trailing at 86,75. To complete the podium, in third position, the 24-year-old from Varese, who with a score of 84 preceded the French Tomas Lemoine (83 points) and the German Erik Fedko (82 points) in the standings.
“I'm in seventh heaven. My goal was to finish in the top five, third place is even better. This time I took a gamble, trying something new, and it worked great »commented Diego after his brave run.
