Canadian athletes Gracey Hemstreet (Norco Race Division) and Jackson Goldstone (Santa Cruz Syndicate) demonstrated their technical skills by winning the Elite women's and men's titles at the second stage of the UCI World Cup in Downhill in Loudenvielle – Peyragudes (France), presented by FACOM.

Hemstreet took his first UCI World Cup win Downhill, while Goldstone celebrated his return from injury by taking his third career UCI Elite World Cup victory. It was also the first time since 1999 that two North Americans have won the UCI Elite World Cup Downhill Elite Men's and Elite Women's on the same day. Hemstreet made history by becoming the first Canadian woman to win a UCI World Cup Downhill female Elite.
