Today the second round of the season of the enduro mountain bike world circuit ended successfully in Val di Fassa.
The spectacular arrival in the village of Canazei of the last and very tense special stage was the apex of the show with the riders whizzing through the streets of the village to the central square where the start and finish area was set up, giving bottom to their last energies remained.
The MET EWS Val di Fassa Trentino, the double debut event of the Enduro World Series 2021, was an event that brought back to Val di Fassa a top-level competition with about 1.000 registered athletes from 27 nations around the world.
For the whole week the Trentino locality was once again in the spotlight and on the front pages of all the main sector newspapers.
"After the forced break in 2019 due to the pandemic, hosting an event of this magnitude again relaunches the locality and the entire Val di Fassa in the best possible way. The feedback on our mountain bike trails and the mountains of the Dolomites remains exciting and this is the most important message that is conveyed in Italy and abroad ”says Nicolò Weiss, APT manager of the Bike product.
In today's race, after 4 special stages 41km and 3.148m in altitude, the fastest was the Australian Jack Moir (Canyon Collective) with a time of 28: 22.20, followed by the American Richie Rude (Yeti / Fox Factory Team ) second at 15 seconds of posting. Third was the Australian Charles Murray (Specialized Racing) who was also very close to his compatriot in the lead, 38 seconds behind.
In the women's category, the French Melanie Pugin wins with a time of 33: 30.62, followed by compatriot Morganne Charre (Pivot Factory Racing) second at 35 seconds. Third was the British Harriet Harnden (Trek Factory Racing) 46 seconds behind the leader of the day.
Excellent result for Italy that wins the Under 21 female category with the Aosta Valley Sophie Riva riding the Ancillotti.
“I feel like I'm dreaming. Today something clicked in my head, I was determined and convinced and despite the mistakes I believed in it to the end, reaching this incredible result ”says Sophie Riva at the end of the race.
Mirco Vendemmia (Fastlight - Abetone), thirteenth in race 1 last Wednesday, today confirms his incredible form that places him among the top riders of the discipline. He closes in 18th position overall, but to understand the level reached by this boy it is enough to consider the fourth absolute position in special 2, a result never achieved in the top class by an Italian.

The World Series Circus now always moves to Italy but on the other side of the Alps in Valle d'Aosta for the third and fourth round of the season. The appointment with the enduro in the Dolomites is in 2022 when on 25 and 26 June the Val di Fassa will once again host this very important world event.
