Gracey Hemstreet and Thibaut Daprela set the fastest times of the day. Jackson Goldstone is in 2nd place but the performance that most impressed is the victory of Junior Hugo Marini who scores the 2nd place overall among the Elites.
The track in southwest France is characterized by a fast, rocky and often heavily tapered upper section and an even faster lower section studded with great features. Showers moved in and out of the two-day test session transforming exposed rocks from barely adherent to polished marble in seconds.
Santa Cruz Syndicate youngsters – Jackson Goldstone and Laurie Greenland are both eyeing a great season. Greenland is a proven UCI World Cup winner, Goldstone is making the famously difficult leap from Junior to Elite. The Canadian prodigy was thwarted from a ruptured appendix and still needs one more surgery before stage a Lenzerheide.
Two living legends examine a slightly changed battlefield. When it comes to downhill racing, Santa Cruz Syndicate's Steve Peat and Greg Minnaar have been there and won just about everything. For this season the tracks of the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup will have a slightly different look in an attempt to limit their environmental impact.
