The cyclocross season has already started for a while and, in the men's field, Eli Iservyt is doing the hell out of four. Despite his fantastic performances, many people in the audience regret the great phenomena of world cycling, namely Mathieu Van Der Poel, Wout Van Aert and Tom Pidcock.
But the day has come: on November 27th Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock will compete in the Hulst World Cup. A moment that will serve to see the first 3-player duel and their state of form compared to the specialists.
TOM PIDCOCK READY FOR DEBUT
Gone are the seasons in which Mathieu van der Poel, Tom Pidcock or Wout van Aert followed much of the international cyclocross calendar. Now they have to deal with increasingly busy appointments between road and MTB. The first of them to debut will be Tom Pidcock, who will do so on November 19th in Belgium at the Superprestige Merksplas. Next, will be Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert, both making their debut on 27 November in the World Cup.
WOUT VAN AERT STAR
In 2021, the protagonist was Wout van Aert who completely dominated the cyclocross season, winning 9 of the 10 races in which he participated before missing the World Championship (world then won by Pidcock). Tom Pidcock, however, had never reached the level of Van Aert with a growing season until the victory of the world championship. Mathieu Van Der Poel, on the other hand, he had a disastrous season with known back problems (ending only one race).
So far this season we have seen tactical competitions but what will happen now with these 3 phenomena? We can't wait for November 27th: live on DAZN and Eurosport Player.
