Michael van den Ham fixed a sprained finger in seconds. And then he left.

A cyclist falls during a race and sits on the ground recovering from the crash. The event takes place on an outdoor mountain bike course.

Cyclists are tough guys, but Canadian Michael van den Ham has raised the bar. At the first bend of the Elite cyclo-cross world championships on Sunday, Van den Ham was trapped in a crash early in the race. When the 4-time Canadian national cyclo-cross champion was about to get back on his bike, he saw that his left finger was not quite in his position and went for the hard way.

Michael Van den Ham then finished 33rd.

My race was good, apart from this… crash. But this will always be the race where I dislocated my finger and put it back in place. I don't remember exactly what I was thinking about, I just know that I thought about putting things right to continue the race and it worked –Michael Van den Ham
